We discussed in detail about various agents of contamination. You would have realized  that contamination is frequently linked with two key components. Water supply and Waste Disposal. The last few decades have witnessed a rapid pace of industrialization and development. A major outcome is the phenomenon if urbanization and the resulting pressure on resources (especially water) and waste disposal systems. We shall deal specifically with water supply and waste disposal systems and their relation to environmental sanitation.

Objectives

  • outline the methods of purifying water and recycling waste. 
  • broadly examine the priorities and achievements of the National Water Supply and Sanitation Programme.

  • outline suggestions to enlist better community participation in water supply and sanitation programmes.
